Vocational / Transitional Services
ACCEL offers a multitude of innovative and diverse vocational training opportunities for the students including a commercial kitchen (Metro Café) and coffee shop (Uncommon Grounds) with food service training, a horticulture program, a creative design workshop with craft and art production, screen printing, a janitorial service, a retail store, student run spirit and bookstore, a recording studio, a full service print shop.
Through cooperative programs with local businesses, vocational students have the opportunity to work in community based employment settings. Using instruments such as the TTAP (a comprehensive test developed for older children, adolescents, and adults with autism spectrum disorders, with special emphasis on those with transitional needs).
Along with vocational counseling, interest inventories and interviews, students learn to evaluate their strengths and set realistic goals for the future.
