About Us
ACCEL was founded in 1980 to serve individuals with cognitive, behavioral and physical challenges by providing research-based educational, therapeutic and vocational programs.
Our program has grown every year. We added an East Campus in 1995 and an adult job training/employment program near our Metro Campus. In 2002, Michael’s Garden opened its doors and in 2009, the BISTA Autism Center and Gifted Handed Boutique was opened.
Our philosophy incorporates a multi-disciplinary, collaborative model that moves instruction out of the traditional classroom and into a wide variety of functional settings. Students and staff utilize indoor and outdoor classrooms, as well as on and off-campus with the goal of maximizing each student’s independence.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide exceptional education, therapeutic, and vocational programs to individuals with special needs, to give them the necessary skills to learn, to work and to live successfully with dignity and independence.
Our Vision
Our vision is to become a recognized leader in the education and employment of individuals with special needs, and to provide model educational, entrepreneurial and residential environments.
