ACCEL (Arizona Centers for Comprehensive Education and Life-Skills) is a private, nonprofit special education program for individuals, ages 5-21. ACCEL provides innovative, individualized and comprehensive education, life skills, behavioral and transition services to students with a wide range of abilities and challenges including autism, intellectual disabilities, learning disorders, and emotional, physical and health impairments.
Programming is individualized and intensive support services are integrated into daily activities. Recreation, music, and adapted aquatics are used in the therapeutic process to further the child's emotional, physical, cognitive, and/or academic development. Vocational programming is designed to specifically help high school students with special needs develop relevant job skills.
ACCEL School Programs consist of two campuses, as well as satellite classrooms on public school district campuses. These programs provide evidenced based practices in applied behavior analysis, structured teaching, as well as speech, occupational, and physical therapy services and assistive technology integrated into the classroom programs. A functional life skills curriculum focusing on dignity, independence, and community skills for all students is a primary focus.
